This post shows why a simplicistic understanding of cryptography is worse than having only some (well-tested) abstractions without any knowledge of what happens under the hoods.

I think Schneier needs no presentation: so I am not spending any word on him; I want however speak about his book «Applyied Cryptography» after 30 years from the first edition. Why?
